Privacy Policy

This is a translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
This policy describes precisely what personal data Denkimedia collects, why, and what your rights are, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and, for persons located in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The European Union section details what applies specifically to European visitors and clients.
Person in charge of the protection of personal information
Amaury Chouia, operator of Denkimedia, is the person in charge of the protection of personal information processed by the service. Any question or request may be sent to contact@denkimedia.com.
Personal information collected
| Who | Data |
|---|---|
| Account holder (client) | Name, company name, email address, telephone number, postal address, password (stored only in hashed form, never in plain text) |
| Contact form / project request | Name, email address, company, message content |
| Visitor to a publication | No IP address is retained. Only the country, inferred from the IP address at the time of the visit, is recorded (non-identifying data). |
We do not collect any payment data on the site: payment for paid plans is currently made offline, by means agreed directly with you.
Purposes of collection
- Creating and managing your account, authenticating you
- Generating and hosting your publications, and enabling you to manage them
- Contacting you about your publication, a request or a payment to be settled
- Responding to your requests submitted via the contact or project form
- Producing anonymized traffic statistics for your publications
Methods of collection
Information is collected directly from you, through the site's forms (sign-up, publication upload, contact, profile), or automatically (the visitor's country, determined technically at each visit to a publication, without retaining the IP address itself).
Cookies and local storage
Denkimedia does not place any advertising or tracking cookies, and our audience measurement works without cookies. We therefore do not display any consent banner: there is nothing to accept.
| Name | Role | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| session | Keeping you logged in after authentication (strictly necessary) | For the session |
| dnk_currency | Remembering the currency you chose for displaying prices | 1 year |
| denki_consent_… (local storage) | Your response to a publisher's audience measurement banner, when a publication uses one (see below) | 6 months |
| denki_sel_… (local storage) | The selection of products you put together in a publication, stored in your browser | Until cleared |
Fonts are hosted on our own servers: unlike loading them from Google Fonts, your IP address is not transmitted to any third party in order to display the pages.
Audience measurement
Our audience measurement uses no cookies and does not retain IP addresses: we record the page viewed, the date and the country inferred from the IP address at the time of the visit, without ever linking this information to an individual or sharing it.
Separately, the publisher of a publication (our client) may integrate its own measurement tool into it (Google Analytics, Matomo, Plausible or Meta Pixel). In that case, and only in that case, a banner asks for your consent BEFORE the tool is loaded: without your consent, it is never loaded. Your response is stored for six months in your browser, and you can change it by clearing the site's data. These tools are then the responsibility of the publisher of the publication.
Transfers outside Quebec
The site and publications are hosted in Canada (OVH Canada Inc.). Your transactional emails (confirmations, notifications) are technically routed through our email delivery provider, Infomaniak, based in Switzerland: a transfer limited to the technical delivery of these emails, not to any commercial use of their content by this provider.
Retention and destruction
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Account and profile information | For as long as the account exists; deleted immediately and permanently at your request (“Delete my account” button in your profile) |
| Publications and uploaded files | Duration of the plan (up to 3 months for the Discovery plan, unlimited for paid plans); 30 days in the trash after deletion, then irreversible destruction |
| Visit statistics (page, date, country) | Deleted together with the publication to which they relate |
| Contact and support messages | 3 years from the last exchange |
| Password reset link | 24 hours, and unusable after its first use |
| Encrypted technical backups | 14 days (automatic rotation) |
You may at any time download all of your data from your profile (“Download my data”, reusable JSON format) or delete your account: this deletion erases the account, the publications, their files and their statistics, and shared links stop working immediately.
European Union (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, the processing described above falls under the GDPR. Two roles coexist:
- Denkimedia is a controller for its own service: client accounts, invoicing, contact forms, anonymous audience measurement of the site.
- Denkimedia is a processor for the data contained in the documents its clients upload and for the visitors to their publications: this processing is decided by the client, who is the controller. The terms are set out in our Data Processing Agreement.
| Processing | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Creating and managing the account, generating and hosting publications | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Responding to a contact message or project request | Pre-contractual measures and legitimate interest in responding (Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f)) |
| Invoicing and collection, accounting obligations | Performance of a contract and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(c)) |
| Cookieless audience measurement with no IP address retained, security of the service | Legitimate interest in measuring and protecting the service, without individual tracking (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Third-party measurement tool integrated by a publisher into its publication | Consent of the visitor, obtained before anything is loaded (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
Transfers outside the European Union. Our servers are located in Canada and our email delivery provider in Switzerland. Both countries are covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission, which recognizes an adequate level of protection; no transfer to any other country is made in order to operate the service.
Your rights. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, as well as the right to data portability and the right to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent. The rights of access and portability can be exercised directly from your profile (“Download my data”), as can the right to erasure (“Delete my account”); for anything else, write to contact@denkimedia.com. We respond within one month. If you believe that your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country of residence (in France, the CNIL).
No automated decision-making or profiling is carried out, and your data is neither sold nor transferred for advertising purposes.
Your rights (Quebec)
With respect to the personal information concerning you, you have the right of access, rectification and deletion, as well as the right to withdraw your consent to its processing. To exercise these rights, write to contact@denkimedia.com; we will respond within a reasonable time. If you believe that your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI).
